WhatsApp added new security feature for WhatsApp web and WhatsApp Desktop for login. This is new security feature introduced by WhatsApp as a new security layer for securing user account. This will take fingerprint and Face ID.

In this when user login to there WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop user need to authenticate by there by Face Id or by fingerprint. This security feature have been introduced so that no other user will be able to use the WhatsApp is a user is already logged in a specific system without you presence.

WhatsApp says that the fingerprint and Face Id detection take place in your smartphone. As per WhatsApp biometric information stored in the user smart phone is non accessible by the WhatsApp. This security introduced to prevent the unethical use of WhatsApp on desktop.

In this security if somebody tries to access his WhatsApp from your desktop doesn't matter it's web or desktop WhatsApp, it will popup an alert in you smart phone. You will be able to remove the connectivity from you smartphone any time from your smartphone.

In current process to user WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop is just to scan the WhatsApp ORC and you will be able to login. But in new security update first you need to complete the Face Id or fingerprint verification.
