In December last year WhatsApp updated is policies and those who don't accept it will lose access to the App after 8th of February this year. Looking this policies and the users response a petitioner brought this matter in front of the New Delhi high court to which high court Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva took the charge for the hearing.

At the time of the hearing of this case the High Court Judge, Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva told the petitioner that WhatsApp is a "private app" and compulsion of using this app is "Voluntary" and "not to join" if don't agree with their terms and condition. Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva also added "It is a private app. Don’t join it. It is a voluntary thing, don’t accept it. Use some other app. Even Google Maps captures all your data and stores it." According to PTI, the court also asked petitioner to share what data stands to leak with the WhatsApp policy changes. The next hearing will be on 25th of this month.

As of now the implementation of change policy is not gone happen till 15th May, 2021 and Whatsapp officially also clarifies all the doubts moving around the users mind that they are not gone share any of their data with any of third party apps or with facebook.

After the Whatsapp policy changes came to news all the competitors like Telegram and Signal are gaining user as those users don't like the Whatsapp change policies.
