Instagram is working in vertical swap for short same in TikTok. This detail is sported on techcrunch. Vertical swap looks more natural then the tap or horizontal swap and it feels like reels. Currently in Instagram for switching the stories tap tap is required. This feature is same as present in SnapChat. 

The Vertical story is currently is being not tested  Instagram confirmed to TechCrunch. But this feature is currently under development. About the news feature  Vertical Swap For Stories was spotted by Alessandro Paluzzi  on his Twitter account.

Alessandro Paluzzi  tell techcrunch that the feature is an early porotype and it is not currently tested on Instagram. This is just an idea. Instagram confirmed to TechCrunch the feature is being built but is not out to the public at this time.
