The Xiaomi has it's headquarter established in Beijing , China.
According to the latest news the Chinese company Xiaomi is targeted by the US Government. The US Government which earlier led by Donald Trump has called out Xiaomi as a 'communist Chinese military company'. As a effect of the statement Xiaomi is now blacklisted under the US Government which doesn't allow US citizen to invest in Xiaomi.
In other words we can say that like Huawei , Xiaomi has also joined the list of blacklisted companies. This will restrict US based security and investment companies from making an investment in the blacklisted companies. The Department of defense (DOD) of US Government has blacklisted 8 other companies along with this.
"It's surprising to see the US administration adding Xiaomi to the list of blacklisted companies especially because it's 3rd largest smartphone maker in the world." - Xiaomi mentioned in a statement.
A Xiaomi spoke person said that the company isn't owned , controlled or affiliated with the Chinese military and it's briefly mentioned in NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) that it's not a 'communist Chinese military company'.
If you have a question in your mind until when it will be blacklisted So, nothing is certain yet . It remains to see what happen with Xiaomi in US. As there are many changing factors these days in US Government. It might be possible when Joe Bidden comes in power the decision could be overturned to ease the tension between US and China.
